Thanks again for the tomatoes! I grabbed a few to put on my lunch salad but again I tried one and couldn't resist the rest of them. They are great!
ReplyDeleteHave you ever tried to grow dill or cilantro? I tried to grow them from seed in a pot and also in a seed starter tray but I was unsuccessful. Next year I think I will just try scattering the seed in the garden.
ReplyDeleteYour welcome Martha. No I have not tried dill or cilantro. The only herbs iv'e tried so far are rosemary and basil (this year). Herbs are so cheap if you are ok with dried, which I am, as long as you sweat them a little while cooking, plus I have very little room.
ReplyDeleteYour last harvest was fantastic. I didnt eat any straight jalapenos, but I seeded them and mixed them with one of your tomatoes and some italian dressing and put all that on a chicken breast. It was delicious, thank you again. How is your basil coming in? Sometimes when I grow basil it seems like the heat gets to it and it doesnt grow that well and other times it comes in great.

ReplyDeleteThanks, best to mix the peppers. The basil is coming along, its shaded by the peppers so the heat has not stopped it. However it tastes a little minty so IDK. Was yours like that in taste? Might be I let the flowers get to big before pruning.
Hi Willis, I too tried the jalapenos, romas tomatoes and yellow peppers and they are delicious! The tomatoes are wonderfully sweet. Another successful year of garden veggies. Do you do anything to keep the bugs away from eating the veggie garden? just curious
ReplyDelete@Amy Thanks I like the Orange/Yellow peppers too, very mild in salads. In the past I've had to use "Safer" brand bug spray, but this year no bug stuff needed. (Lucky me).
